In Norway, Boeing and Nammo conducted a series of fire tests of Ramjet 155 long-range ammunition. This info is stated in the report of Boeing.

The Ramjet 155 artillery ammunition was designed to meet the requirements of the US Army for long-range and aimed fire on the enemy.

Successful tests demonstrated the survivability of the artillery system and the predicted characteristics.

"We are very inspired by the progress in the development, improvement and ongoing testing of our Ramjet 155 projec, which we believe will provide excellent and affordable capabilities against emerging threats," said Boeing spokesman Steve Nordlund.

Nammo Managing Director Morten Brandtzeg said: “We are making excellent progress in developing a direct-current jet engine without any major stumbling blocks. The latest tests have been extremely promising. "

The Norwegian company Nammo has been cooperating with Boeing Phantom Works since 2019 to develop the next generation of artillery shells that meet the requirements of the US Army.

The program is based on the success of the Boeing Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) programs.

Currently, the team plans to further develop and further test the long-range artillery shell in the coming months.

The new generation of ammunition will be able to use all guns type L52 (155-mm).

In 2019, representatives of Nammo said that with their engine ammunition will receive a maximum range of about 150 kilometers.
